We are walking towards the main office building, when Mr Oshanigo told us that the MD have an information for us. Me, Uzo and Taiwo quickly proceeds to the MD's office, there we met Tinuke his secretary looking troubled, fidgeting has she tries to get some papers stuffed into the office file on her table.
We made our presence known to her by calling her name, since she was oblivious of her surrounding. she looked up and stare absently at the three of us.
"what's wrong Tinu?" Uzo asked being someone who is quick to voice his opinion.
"I..I am so..so..sorry guys" Tinuke stammered while replying.
"hope nothing is wrong with you?" I inquired.
"nnnn..no nothing is wrong. iii i just am okay actually." she retorts looking more worried and confused.
"Is the boss in?" I asked.
"Yeah...so so sorry. you can all go in." she replied " in fact he is waiting for you guys" she added as we move towards the big oak door that serve as the enterance of the MD's office
I looked back and saw Taiwo whispering to Tinuke I smiled.
"why are u smiling?" Uzo asked me.
" can't you see the two love birds?" i replied him gesturing towatds Taiwo and Tinu.
Uzo smiled. "Don't you see how he was quiet all the while we are asking her questions? Uzo suggests.
" I know, let's see this man and then we can asked him what's wrong with his fiancee later " I added.
As i was about opening the door, Taiwo walks up to us looking worried. i didn't bother to ask him what's wrong with him, since i know it might be as a results of what his girlfriend told him.
"Good morning sir" we all chorus whem we saw the MD.
"what is good about the morning gentlemen" he replied looking up from the paper he was joting on.
We all looked at each other, only Taiwo looked scared while I and Uzo were surprised from the answer we got from our boss and the countenance of Taiwo. we both eyed each other asking with our mind what is going on here.
"So gentlemen. I heard all of you were acting a movie?" MD asked us looking sternly at each of our faces.
I and Uzo looked lost and raised our shoulders and prepare to ask for what's going on. then he add.
"I think I have watched the movie before" MD countinues and standing up from his seat and walking towards us.
"Three men and a baby, hmmmm. I only thought its just to make us laugh. nothing more" he adds standing in front of us now.
I was confused because I have no clue to what he was saying, I can't looked over at Uzo, but I knew he too would be confused as well.
"We are very sorry sir" Taiwo offered.
I looked at him and was like sorry for what? So was Uzo.
"So you all decides to be the father or is it just one of you?" our boss pressed further pretending as if he did not hear Taiwo.
As Taiwo made to say something, Uzo chip in "Sir, we have no idea what you are talking about and why Taiwo has to beg on our behalf" Uzo adds looking from me to Taiwo.
"Yes sir, we don't understand all of your statements"I quickly add not allowing Taiwo to rope us into something we know nothing about.
"But your friend already knows, or you two are trying to deny your involvements" MD adds looking at us with an intense gaze.
my mind start thinking, "deny involvements?, is he saying we committed a fraud or Taiwo committed the fraud and he assumed we are all in on it? since we are Taiwo's friend?
my mind was going on and on to all possibility. what could Taiwo have done that this man thought were in on it. I summoned courage and decides if am going to be accused or fired for something at least I should know what it is.
" Sir I belive I can only talk for myself and Uzo here." I said looking over at Uzo to seek his apptoval. he reponded by nodding to my stare.
" We don't know what is going on and we would be glad if you could tell us what it is." I added.
MD smiled, moved away from us to stand behind his desk, he looked at the three of us, shake his head and look over at Taiwo.
" Mr Taiwo, can you hear your accomplices denying their involvements?" he press further.
" Sir I can explain, please sir give me chance to explain." Taiwo begged kneeling down and placing his two palms together.
The MD, was visibly angry " guys or should I called you men?" he asked rethorically.
" I think I would called you animals, because it's only animals that can do what you did." he added.
" I called you here to look you in the eye and tell you animals that your services are no more needed in this establishment" MD pronounced by hitting his fist on his desk.
I and Uzo were shocked, we looked down at Taiwo and at eachother, fell down on our kneels begging, eventhough we had no clue of what we did.
"Sir, please be merciful to us, we beg you with all the things that you hold dear and love" we chorused.
"Love!!!....hold dear!!!.... you are all mad. get out of my office right this moment" the MD shouts on top of his voice with his eyes now red like blood.
"Security!!!!!" he shouts loudly beckoning to the security personnel, who rushed in.
" Take these animals out of my office before I commit murder" he ordered at the security men.
The security men dragged us out of his office all the way out of the company's premises.
"Gentle men if you love yourself, disappear from this place before the police arrives." The head of the seurity told us.
On hearing this. Taiwo quickly got up and ran. I and Uzo ran after him as if we are in an olympic athletic tournament.
We didn't stop until we got to a safe distance. i was panting heavily so was Uzo.
"Guy what's going on." I asked Uzo, panting.
" I don't know too." Uzo looking worried as he tries to catch his breathe.
"Let's ask Taiwo" I offered after catching my breathe.
Uzo nodded in agreement. we approached Taiwo who was ahead of us catching his breathe. I pulled him by his collar. "Guy what did you do man?" I asked him angrily.
"Take it easy Ola." He replied trying to free my hand from his collar.
" No am not taking it easy on, tell me what just happened. then you can tell me to take it easy". I barked at him, looking as if i could kill him with my fist.
"Okay. Okay. Let go of my collar first." he pleads.
I let go of his collar but stood in front of him and ready for any trick he might try on me.
"Come on Ola, let's leave this place first." Taiwo pleads with me, but I do not want to listen to anything from him except explanation on whats going on.
When he sees am not softening my stand. He turns to Uzo.
"Please Uzo, make Ola see reason. We can't discuss anything here. Let's move away first." He pleads with Uzo.
Uzo approached me and place his hand on my shoulder and signal with his head to make me understand.
I soften, but my anger boils inside of me.
We left the place and locate an eatery, we entered and we all ordered soft drinks and bottles of water each.
" Okay, guys you remembered what happened, two weeks ago?" Taiwo began looking at the three of us.
i shook my head in disagreement. Uzo spoke "what happened man, I don't remembered anything."
" You know, you all came to my house and that old witch cursed us" Taiwo said looking at us to see if we remembered the incident.
"If am getting you, you are saying what that woman said that day is what caused the rage of the MD?" I asked him. Looking puzzled.
"Yes now, what else could it be?" Taiwo said gesturing with his hand in submission.
" I don't believe you. How can that be the cause of the MD saying three men and a baby?" Uzo asked him.
" Honestly, i dont know why the MD said that." Taiwo replied looking at the two of us.
I looked at Uzo and he too return my gaze and we both say in unison "No, capital NO!."
" What were you discussing with Tinu? Tinu was visibly shaking and worried and you are worried immediately she yold you something" I stated.
" Yes and immediately the MD start talking, you start apologizing to him. why?" Uzo asked in supports my statements.
"Look, Tinu told me, that the MD just told her to type our termination letter and that's when we all entered and she didn't know what to say to us" Taiwo explained.
We all looked at each other and take our drinks reflecting on what just happened.
